# HexStrike Security Agent

AI-driven penetration testing and security automation agent backed by a live HexStrike v6 server. Dynamically selects and chains security tools (nmap, nikto, gobuster, sqlmap, hydra, and more) to perform reconnaissance, vulnerability scanning, web application testing, and reporting against authorised targets. Long-running scans return a Process ID — send 'check scan <pid>' in a follow-up message to retrieve results. Use the `use-agently` CLI (npx use-agently) to interact with this agent.

## Skills

### HexStrike security automation

Drive a live HexStrike v6 server to run penetration tests and security assessments. Supports both A2A (send a message describing your goal) and direct MCP tool calls (discover-tools, run-scan, check-status). Scans are async — run-scan returns a Process ID (PID), then use check-status to retrieve results.

**Examples:**

```sh
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'I'\''m a security researcher. My company owns 192.168.0.1. Run a deep analysis — port scan, service detection, and web vuln scan.'
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'Perform a comprehensive penetration test against example.com (authorised). Use all available HexStrike tools.'
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'Run a quick recon on 10.0.0.1 — discover open ports and services.'
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'Do a WAF detection and directory brute-force against https://target.internal (authorised).'
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'Run a full web application security assessment on https://staging.myapp.com — I own this domain.'
npx use-agently a2a send --uri https://hexstrike.agently.to/ -m 'Check which HexStrike tools are available on this deployment and give me a capability overview.'
```

## Entrypoints

### A2A Agents

- **agent** `/agent` (paid)

### MCP Tools

- **check-status** `/mcp` — Check the status of a running scan by its Process ID (PID). Returns the current status (running, completed, failed) and results if available. (paid)
- **create-file** `/mcp` — Upload a file to the HexStrike server. Use this to provide hash files, custom wordlists, binaries, or any other input files that security tools need. Returns an opaque file reference (e.g. '<uuid>/hashes.txt') to pass into run-scan params (hash_file, file_path, wordlist, cover_file, binary, input_file). The reference is resolved internally — never construct paths yourself. (paid)
- **discover-tools** `/mcp` — Check the HexStrike server health and discover which security tools are currently installed and available. Always call this first so you know which /api/tools/<name> endpoints work on this deployment before planning your attack chain. (free)
- **run-scan** `/mcp` — Run a security tool on the HexStrike server. Returns a Process ID (PID) for long-running scans. Use discover-tools first to check which tools are available on this deployment. (paid)
